A chess set is a kit that includes everything needed to play the game. All the pieces, both black and white, as well as the board of course are included in the set. Some sets even include additional games such as checkers or backgammon as well.

Chess sets can be relatively cheap or cost many thousands of dollars. The right set for you can most easily be determined by what you plan to use it for. If you’re looking for a travel set, you can probably acquire one for ten dollars or less. But if you want an ornate set that is not only functional but aesthetically pleasing as well, be prepared to pay much more.

Whatever chess set appeals to you most, there are many resources available to suit your needs. They can be bought at local game or hobby shops or they can be purchased online. You’d be surprised how many different options there are so do your research and get one that you’ll love for years to come.
